McClintock Animal Care Center

Every pet owner wants the best possible care for their pets, but not everyone plans on saving for those unexpected veterinary visits. Pet insurance provides relief not only to your wallet, but also provides peace of mind to you, without the worry of how to pay for unforeseen vet bills. Pet insurance, regardless of the plan you choose for your pet, can be a reassuring presence whether you’re faced with routine care or an emergency situation.

We have compiled several frequently asked questions about pet insurance for your convenience:

Which company is better?

Every pet insurance company offers something appealing for everyone. This website is a great look at the different companies, and the reviews are done by pet owners just like you! The most common pet insurance companies we have personally worked with are Pets Best Pet Insurance and Embrace Pet Insurance.

How much does it cost?

The cost of pet insurance has several contributing factors. The monthly/yearly premium is affected by how much of a deductible you want to pay prior to coverage of services by the company, if you decide to include routine wellness care (if covered by your chosen plan), how much annual maximum you are allowing, etc. Each plan can be tailored to suit your pet’s needs and your wallet.

Is there a copay for veterinary office visits?

Most pet insurance companies do not use copays, instead requiring the pet parent to pay in full at the clinic when services are rendered.

As a courtesy to our clients and their pets, we are able to keep a claim form for your pet on file. Once all necessary medical notes are finalized, we will electronically submit the claim to your insurance company. Once the claim is processed, the insurance company will reimburse you the percentage outlined in your specific pet insurance policy.
